According to Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton, his players know what has to be done to guarantee a positive outcome in their last group match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
After losing both of their opening two games in the competition, Ghana will play Mozambique on Monday night in an attempt to earn their first three points.
In their first match, the Black Stars were defeated by Cape Verde; in their second match, they twice blew a lead to tie with Egypt.
Ghana is down one point going into the final round of matches, and a victory might put them in a stronger position to advance to the competition’s next round. This is due to the tie against the Pharaohs.
“The players know what it will take to get a result,” Chris Hughton remarked in a press conference prior to Monday’s match. This tournament doesn’t have any simple games.
“We need to prepare ourselves both mentally and physically for this.”
Ghana would move up to second place with a win and four points, contingent on the outcome of the Egypt vs. Cape Verde match.
