As the harmattan season blankets the Akropong Presbyterian College of Education in its cool, dry embrace, the fire safety education unit of the Akropong Fire Station led by ADO I Stephen Essel in collaboration with the Management of the college teamed up to bolster fire safety awareness among first-year students, kitchen staff, campus market vendors, and other staff equipping them with the knowledge and skills to prevent and manage undesired fires.
The program centred on first-year students, the dedicated kitchen staff honed their skills in safe cooking practices, and the bustling campus market vendors embraced guidance on safeguarding their stalls. Emphasizing the collective responsibility for fire safety within the college premises, practical demonstrations, including the proper use of fire extinguishers, added a hands-on dimension to the event.
Management of the college thanked the Fire Officers for the knowledge imparted to them and pledged to adhere strictly to the advice and education given.
