The KPMG audit report on the revenue mobilization agreement between Strategic Mobilization Ghana Ltd (SML) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been presented to President Akufo-Addo.

On Wednesday, April 3, the Presidency’s Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, made an announcement stating that President Akufo-Addo is now examining the report, which was turned in on Wednesday, March 27.

He stated that President Akufo-Addo is now reviewing the audit report’s conclusions and will notify the Ghanaian people of his decisions when it is appropriate.

“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, 27th March 2024, received from KPMG its report on the audit conducted, at the behest of the President, on the transactions between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML). President Akufo-Addo is studying the findings of the audit report, and will, in due course, make his decisions known to the Ghanaian people.”

On January 2, 2024, a decision was made to commission the KPMG audit in response to concerns expressed over the contracts between GRA and SML.

As a result, President Akufo-Addo directed the Ministry of Finance and GRA to cease contract execution until the audit report, which included any outstanding payments outlined in the agreements was finished.
