The Ghana Statistical Service issued figures showing that inflation for March 2024 increased to 25.8% from 23.2% the previous month.
This acceleration highlights the increasing strain on the expense of living, amounting to a 2.6 percentage point increase.
The Ghana Statistical Service reported that while food inflation rose to 29.6%, non-food inflation grew by 22.6 percent.
The increase was 26.6% for things made locally and 23.8% for items imported.
Transportation, along with food and non-alcoholic beverages, was shown to be the primary cause of the increase in overall inflation for March 2024.
