In the Ejisu Constituency, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is holding its parliamentary primary. This is an important step in choosing a candidate for the next by-election.
Following the unexpected death of the current MP, John Kumah, on March 7, 2024, a vacancy in the seat must be filled, leading to this primary.
The vetting committee approved nine candidates on April 6 who were running for the party’s nomination in the Ejisu Constituency. This created a competitive field that party members could select from.
Prior to the nominations opening on April 2, 2024, these candidates had gathered nomination forms on April 4, indicating their willingness to run for the party’s seat in the constituency.
