The Ghana Grid Company LTD. (GRIDCo) would like to notify the public that there was a disturbance in the Ghana electricity system that resulted in certain customers in Accra, the Western and Northern regions of the country losing power.
On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 14:41, the Accra Central, Achimota Line tripped due to a failure that also caused adjacent transmission lines to trip. Numerous producing stations in Tema, Kumasi, and Aboadze tripped as a result of this.
Restoration got began almost away, and efforts are being made to get supply back to all the locations that were impacted. GRIDCo expresses regret to all impacted customers for the inconveniences they have caused.
