As the first African artist to reach two billion streams in the UK, Grammy Award winner Burna Boy has created a historic record.
The historic occasion was marked by a Brit Plaque, which he received in honor of this outstanding achievement, during his sold-out performance at Koko Camden in London on Monday night.
This accomplishment was made only a few weeks after Burna Boy, during his June sold-out London Stadium show, was awarded a Brit plaque for achieving one billion streams.
Burna Boy thanked everyone in a widely shared video that showed him accepting the plaque commemorating two billion streams, saying, “I fought for it.” Many thanks for it. Thank you very much. Then, that concludes it. You must defend your rights.
The celebrated “African Giant” has been making headlines throughout Europe and beyond with his explosive performances.
Burna Boy has sold out venues in the UK during the first half of the year, cementing his reputation as the “Afrobeat Ambassador” and increasing his appeal on a global scale.
