A number of high-ranking appointments to the Office of the President have been formally announced by President-elect John Dramani Mahama as he gets ready to take over as head of the Republic of Ghana.
The appointments will go into effect on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as stated in a statement released on January 6, 2025.
Among those appointed is Julius Debrah, who will be the Chief of Staff, a crucial position in organizing the Presidency’s operations. The Interim Security Taskforce will be led by Prosper Douglas Bani, while the President’s Executive Secretary will be Dr. Callistus Mahama.
Other significant appointments include Augustus Goosie Tanoh, who will be the Presidential Advisor in charge of the 24-hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development, and Dr. Valerie Sawyer, who will be the Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs.
Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu will serve as the President’s acting spokesperson, while Marietta Ayewaa Brew has been named Legal Counsel.
With these nominations, the president-elect begins the process of putting together a team of leaders to lead the next administration.
According to observers, Mahama’s emphasis on competency and consistency in his leadership is shown in the chosen people’ vast backgrounds in security, law, and governance.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President-elect’s Special Aide, signed the statement, which highlights how prepared Mahama’s administration is to get started as soon as the new administration takes office.
