Mohammed Abdul-Salam has been named the National Lottery Authority’s (NLA) acting chief executive officer (CEO) by President John Dramani Mahama.
This appointment complies with Section 45(1) of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722) and Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
The appointment takes effect immediately and is contingent upon the Board of the Authority’s advice, which is mandated by the Constitution and provided after consulting with the Public Services Commission.
On January 15, the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, wrote an official letter announcing the news.
This was a major appointment for the National Lottery Authority, and the President wished Mr. Abdul-Salam well in his new position.

Mohammed Abdul-Salam is expected to oversee the affairs of the NLA and work towards attaining the Authority’s mandate.
