According to the National Cathedral Secretariat, North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s accusation that the national cathedral project’s registration as a not-for-profit organization in the United States was done using a dead man’s identity is nothing more than premeditated malice.

After returning from his investigational trip to the US, Mr. Ablakwa stated: “Painstaking and unimpeachable investigations shockingly reveal that the March 2021 incorporation of the National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc., in Washington, D.C., was criminally executed through identity theft.”

He declared: “I can certify that the Employer ID Number for the National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc. is: 86-3859197. This information is contained in an IRS tax-exempt letter that was intercepted and dated December 13, 2021.

“Further indisputable forensic analyses show that Jose Salgado is the rightful owner of the Social Security number 863-85-9197 used to create the Cathedral’s Employer ID Number. (See supporting documentation.)”

Deeper inquiries and unbeatable gold-standard validation, including a police database report, have revealed that Jose Salgado, 31, who went by many aliases, including Jose Luis Delapaz, Jose Isabel Salgado, Jose Luis Paz, and Jose L De, was born in March 1983 and passed away on September 17, 2014. (See extract attached). Therefore, it has become clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ghana’s National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. was fraudulently incorporated using the Social Security Number of a deceased young male Hispanic who passed away 9 years ago, the MP alleged.

Jose Salgado’s death had not yet been publicly notified to all the pertinent US agencies, thus it is obvious that those responsible for this egregious international humiliation planned to exploit this situation in a questionable but expensive way.

The opposition MP’s charge, according to a statement by the Secretariat’s Executive Director, Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, reveals his ignorance of the US system.

Dr. Opoku-Mensah added in the statement, “As a Ghanaian, I find it extremely embarrassing to see this expressed by the Ranking Member of Foreign Affairs in the Country’s Parliament.”

The Secretariat also charged Mr. Ablakwa with purposeful factual misrepresentation in order to support his version of events.

The malicious claim that the National Cathedral is guilty of the terrible crime of “identity theft” in the registration of the National Cathedral Foundation in the USA is the bulk of Episode 2, on the other hand.

“However, neither ignorance nor accident caused this distortion. It mirrors the MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s operating style. His entire list of ‘National Cathedral controversies’ is a fabrication of the truth of the undertaking!

“The National Cathedral Project has been carried out with integrity and without illegality, as we have maintained repeatedly and reiterated in our press release dated May 3, 2023.

The false information and lies regarding the National Cathedral project will – ultimately – unravel!, the statement added, comparing them to the carelessly populist and reputation-damaging charges of the McCarthy era in the USA.
