The Ghanaian government has shown solidarity with the Palestinian people by donating 40 metric tons of locally produced cocoa products in the midst of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
The donation was made by President John Dramani Mahama, who said it was a reflection of Ghana’s longstanding relationship with the Palestinian people and its strong commitment to humanity.
“This donation is not only a reflection of Ghana’s rich natural resources but also a source of vital nutrition, especially for malnourished mothers and children affected by the crisis,” President Mahama said.
In addition, he reiterated Ghana’s steadfast support for a two-state solution and urged all sides to the conflict to put communication and enduring peace first.
Ambassador Abdalfatah Al-Sattari thanked the Ghanaian government and people for the donation, which he accepted on behalf of the Palestinian people.
“This gesture carries both emotional and symbolic significance. It reminds us that even in our darkest moments, we are not alone,” the Ambassador said.
As part of Ghana’s larger commitment to global peacebuilding and international solidarity, the cocoa donation is anticipated to be distributed via humanitarian channels.
