The relatives of the nine students who drowned at Faanaa, a community in the Bortianor district of Greater Accra, have received condolences from the Ghana Education Service (GES).
“The Ghana Education Service has received with shock yet another tragic news involving twelve students who drowned on their way home and nine unfortunate students who unfortunately met their untimely demise.” The head of public relations, Madam Cassandra Twum Ampofo, stated in a news statement.
With sorrowful hearts, Management sends its condolences to the departed families and assures them that they are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
The boat the nine kids were in capsized on Wednesday, May 10. This resulted in their drowning. After a comprehensive search, the bodies of the ninth child were found on Thursday, May 11, as opposed to Wednesday when eight of the victims were found.
