Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, will attend an important international mining conference in Australia beginning on Wednesday, September 3.
Mining and extractive sector captains and specialists from around the world will attend the high-level event.
Ghana’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources will give a formal presentation at the Africa Down Under (ADU) Summit, explaining why Ghana is still the best place to mine in Africa and the West African subregion.
Ghana is Africa’s top producer of gold, therefore he will also highlight the country’s welcoming investment environment and the reasons it continues to be a lucrative mining destination.
It is anticipated that the Minister’s involvement will draw in the necessary investment backing to boost Ghana’s mining fortunes and broaden the nation’s frontiers in value addition and mineral production.
Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia, the Lands Ministry’s Director of Communications, confirmed the Minister’s schedule and said the three-day conference will also give the Ministry a chance to establish new relationships with development partners on the global mining scene.
Representatives from the Minerals Commission and Ministry officials are part of the Minister’s delegation to this crucial summit.
About the Africa Down Under Summit (ADU)
ADU is the leading forum for Australian-African business and government relations and was first launched to raise awareness of Australia’s interests in African mining and energy.
This annual summit has evolved to become the largest African-focused mining event held outside the continent itself which is reflected by the number of high-profile participants who attend each year.
Since its inaugural conference in 2003, ADU has showcased many success stories about Australian companies and organisations working across Africa.
In addition to creating a melting pot for pro Africa-Australia relations, ADU forms the principal pillar for “Africa Week”, Australia’s week long celebration of the strong business ties
