The mayor also visited the Swanlake neighbourhood and Ahonfe Close in North Kaneshie, where he gave the impacted households GH¢20,000, four boxes of cooking oil with 48 bottles, and 100 pieces of 5 kg bags of rice.
In the Bubui Electoral Area, in Bubuashie Attico on Kanto Street, Hon. On behalf of the impacted citizens, Allotey gave the community leader Stella Yanky GH¢30,000, three boxes of cooking oil with 36 bottles, and 125 pieces of 5 kilogram sacks of rice.

Speaking to the victims, Hon. Allotey stated that the donations were made on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), and the local Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Ernest Adomako, in order to show sympathy and assist the affected residents in coping with the immediate effects of the disaster.
He said that after a thorough evaluation of the impacted houses was finished, the AMA would return with more assistance. The Assembly had noted the challenges that the inhabitants were encountering, including the destruction of mattresses, cooking equipment, food items, and other personal possessions.

Hon. Allotey stated that the AMA had sent sanitation workers to assist with the cleanup effort and had given free compactors to remove trash from the impacted communities. He also urged locals to refrain from throwing trash into gutters and drains since this blocked drainage channels and made flooding worse.
He reassured locals that the Assembly would keep collaborating with local authorities and pertinent organisations to clean drains, remove impediments, and implement strategies to lessen flooding in the impacted areas.
In order to guarantee that the relief supplies were given equitably to those who most needed them, the mayor urged the impacted locals to stick together and work with their local authorities.
Hon. Alfred Asiedu Adjei, the Assembly Member for the Avenor Electoral Area, thanked the Mayor, President Mahama, the MP, and the AMA for attending to the people’s needs.
He stated that the rice, cooking oil, money, and sanitary supplies will be very helpful in helping the impacted families and the community start the healing process.
