The Ghana Police Service arrested Prophet William Gyimah, the General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, for reportedly making death threats against Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang in a viral video.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the 49-year-old suspect was apprehended at Kasoa in the Central Region as part of an intelligence-led operation.

The IGP’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) made the arrest, according to the police, after a video purportedly showing the suspect uttering the threats went viral on TikTok and other social media sites.

The service claims that the video was discovered through continuous social media surveillance, which prompted the specialised team to act quickly.

Since then, Prophet William Gyimah has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Department’s (CID) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) for additional inquiry.
