Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the nominee for the Foreign Affairs Ministry, strongly denied rumors that he has a $3 million home in his constituency.
Ablakwa responded to the media-circulating accusations during his screening by the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31.
He declared unequivocally that the allegations are untrue and were made up to damage his character.
Ablakwa clarified that the charges against him about the purported property were part of a larger effort to discredit him and lacked any real foundation.
He said that such baseless rumors, which he characterized as politically motivated, disappointed him.
Noting that he does not own any such property in the constituency, the Foreign Affairs Ministry nominee emphasized that his primary focus is still on serving the people of his constituency and the country.
He added that these accusations are a part of a bigger effort to discredit him as a public official.
Ablakwa stated unequivocally that he would not be sidetracked by these unfounded allegations and would keep his attention on the crucial task at hand.
His supporters were reassured that he would do everything in his power to safeguard his reputation and that his integrity would not be compromised.
Although the Foreign Affairs Ministry nominee denied the allegations, he emphasized the significance of confronting such problems directly and upholding openness in public office.
