The campaign team of former Education Minister and MP for Bosomtwe, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has disregarded the latest Global InfoAnalytics survey on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer battle, claiming that the grassroots remains firmly behind their candidate.

Opoku Mensah, a spokesperson for Dr. Adutwum, stated that the campaign’s internal polling depicted a completely different image than the Global InfoAnalytics results.

The Global InfoAnalytics survey, released on August 22 and based on the views of 2,656 NPP delegates across 263 constituencies, showed former Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in leadership with 52%, followed by former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong with 17%. Dr. Adutwum, like other candidates, polled less than 1%.

However, Mr. Mensah claimed that foreign polls undervalued the immediate former education minister’s importance within the party.

He went on to say that any attempt to diminish Dr. Adutwum’s popularity “is dead on arrival,” and that support for his candidacy was growing on a daily basis.

The NPP will select its flagbearer for the 2028 general election next year, in January 2026.
