The CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD), Sammy Gyamfi, filed a GH¢10 million defamation lawsuit against media personality and socialite Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, better known by her stage name Afia Schwarzenegger.
Afia seems unconcerned about the lawsuit in a July 23, 2025, social media video. She responded sarcastically and defiantly, writing, “You people play too much!! Stop it and grow up… If I have GHS10 million, I will be the President of Ghana. Fri me so.”
Sammy Gyamfi’s defamation lawsuit, which was also filed on July 23, 2024, came after this response. Afia Schwarzenegger is accused by Sammy Gyamfi in the case of disseminating untrue information, including claims of adultery, extramarital affairs, and giving opulent cars to female University of Ghana students.
Gyamfi is requesting GH¢10 million in damages, a restraining order to stop Afia from saying anything more disparaging about him, and a public apology that is posted on Afia’s social media accounts and in a national newspaper.
Afia Schwarzenegger has so far maintained her characteristically audacious public persona and has shown no signs of backtracking. As the matter develops over the next few weeks, it is probably going to attract public notice.
