Prior to the elections in 2024, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned its members not to display any symptoms of complacency.
The party maintains that everyone must contribute if the NDC is to succeed in the upcoming elections.
After beginning his campaign to run for General Secretary of the NDC, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Director of Elections for the party, urged his followers to remain committed in an interview with Citi News.
“The NPP will struggle to obtain 40% if true elections are held today, but we know they won’t,” the opposition party said. “The governing party will be quite frantic in trying to use other tactics. Because of this, the NDC must not be smug and assert that we have already triumphed. That is not what I want to hear. We must persevere in our fight. We aim to achieve such a resounding triumph that no one will be able to reverse it.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the NDC’s chairman, is pleading with party members to vote to keep him in that position.
He contends that the party needs a strong team to free the nation from the current administration.
I humbly request and implore all delegates to support me on December 17. Please know that your vote for me means you support party unity, inclusivity, hard effort, and, ultimately, victory in 2024. I am the chairman of the people, and I have work to do. Vote for me to lead the NDC to victory in 2024 and establish the new administration.
