Boakye Agyarko, a candidate for National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has identified Joseph Osei-Owusu and Henry Quartey as important people to guide his campaign ahead of the party’s internal elections.
Agyarko named Quartey as Campaign Manager and Osei-Owusu, also known as Joe Wise, as Senior Campaign Advisor in a statement issued on April 3. During a meeting with campaign volunteers, the appointments were made public.
Quartey has experience in both local government and national security as a former member of parliament for Ayawaso Central and interior minister.
Former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and former Bekwai MP Osei-Owusu is anticipated to offer strategic counsel.
The statement insists that the appointments indicate Agyarko’s plan to wage a grassroots campaign by using the two’s backgrounds in party organization and political mobilisation.
The campaign team is certain that their combined knowledge of internal party dynamics and legislative affairs will provide them a tactical edge.
According to the statement, Quartey and Osei-Owusu have both supported Agyarko’s plan to “rebuild, restructure, and rebrand” the NPP in order to help Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia win the general elections in 2028.
According to Agyarko’s campaign, a comprehensive national campaign team with specialists in operations, communications, and research would be revealed soon.
Vincent Frimpong Manu, the campaign spokesperson, signed the statement.
