John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has come under fire from President Nana Akufo-Addo for his “24-hour economy” proposal, which he has called ambiguous and unsubstantial.

He said that the program did not provide real answers to Ghana’s urgent problems.

During his campaign visit of the Greater Accra Region, the President spoke to religious and traditional leaders and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Tema West constituency. He urged voters to reject Mr. Mahama in the next presidential election on December 7.

He argued that Mahama’s return will not provide Ghana with the creative leadership it requires.

President Akufo-Addo emphasized how his administration and the NPP have implemented policies that have had a major impact on the growth of the country.

He reaffirmed his conviction that the party is the most qualified candidate to guide Ghana ahead due to their solid track record of government.

The President also hailed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP, as the best person to lead the country into the future.

He emphasized Bawumia’s ability and vision, claiming that under his direction, governance would continue and Ghana’s progress would be accelerated.

“What is Mahama coming to do? 24-hour economy. You couldn’t keep the lights on in the four years in which you were in power for 12 hours a day.”

“How are you going to run a 24-hour economy when 12 hours a day, you couldn’t keep the lights on?”

“You couldn’t pay the teacher training allowance. You couldn’t pay nursing training allowance.”

The voters was urged by President Akufo-Addo to prioritize leadership traits and solutions based on policies.

Under Bawumia’s leadership, he said, he was confident that the NPP’s development plan will promote sustainable growth and successfully tackle the country’s problems.
