All of the roads damaged by the recent rains will be repaired, according to the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
According to a statement from the ministry, in addition to expanding some road networks, maintenance work is being done to keep the roads passable for motor vehicles.
For instance, it mentioned that construction is still going on at the Teshie Tsui Bleoo and Fertilizer roads.
Concerns expressed by members of the public and several media outlets regarding potholes that have appeared on some country roads as a result of recent heavy rains have been brought to the Ministry of Roads and Highways’ (MRH) attention.
The ministry wants to make clear that substantial amounts of work are generally being done to extend the country’s road network and carry out normal and periodic maintenance on existing ones.
Older roads may deteriorate during the wet season, but this is rapidly fixed thanks to the ministry’s emergency maintenance program.
The statement also stated that “the ministry wishes to reassure the public that steps are being taken to address critical sections of roads that have gone bad throughout the country upon the onset of rains.”
