The Takoradi-Cape Coast highway dualisation project will begin with a groundbreaking ceremony today, Tuesday, presided over by President John Dramani Mahama.
During the President’s one-day working visit to the Western area, this will be one of the activities.
In the 2025 mid-year budget review, the project—which falls under the “Big Push” initiative—is one of thirty-two key highways. The government’s larger national plan to modernise infrastructure and boost economic growth in order to draw in the necessary investment for jobs and the nation’s development includes the long-awaited corridor expansion.
President Mahama is anticipated to visit the Western Regional Hospital and the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital to inspect the current repair and expansion projects.
