On November 1, 2023, the case between Mr. Charles Bissue, Secretary of the now-defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), will now be heard.
Mr. Bissue is asking the court to order the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to stop further investigating him and to stop bringing any cases against him without also including investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in the investigation.
In the Galamsey fraud Part 1 documentary, he alleges that Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Tiger Eye took part in an alleged bribe exchange.
With judicial review requests, Mr. Bissue is currently involved in procedures before the Human Rights Court.
Other than two cases, he has withdrawn them all. In the aforementioned case as well as a separate one, the OSP is requesting a writ of certiorari to overturn both the claimed arrest warrant it acquired for him and the notice it issued declaring him wanted.
In particular, the OSP is pursuing Mr. Bissue for the seizure and management of excavators, machinery, road vehicles, and gold nuggets in the fight against galamsey. These actions were part of the Inter-Ministerial Committee and Illegal Mining (IMCIM), which has since been disbanded.
According to a Tiger Eye P.I. investigative video titled Galamsey Fraud Part 1, Mr. Bissue is accused of using his position as Secretary of IMCIM for personal gain during that time.
