Ghana’s Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, called for a radical change in the nation’s economic strategy at the opening of the much awaited 2026 Kwahu Business Forum on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the newly constructed Convention Centre at Mpreaso Hills in the Eastern Region.

He emphasised that manufacturing must be at the center of Ghana’s future growth.

Hon. Debrah emphasised in his introductory speech the significance of increasing domestic output in order to guarantee long-term economic growth.

He called on the nation to concentrate on producing more of what it consumes, processing more of its agricultural output, enhancing the value of its mineral resources, and developing robust domestic industries that can compete on a global scale.

“We must produce more of what we consume, process more of what we grow, add more value to mining, and build local industries to compete both in Ghana and abroad,” Debrah asserted.

Policymakers, corporate executives, and industry specialists get together at the 2026 Kwahu Business Forum to talk about important tactics for boosting Ghana’s economy.

The President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, is anticipated to attend the forum.

The Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, is also slated to give a speech on trade, agribusiness, and associated investment prospects in Ghana, along with a number of panel discussions and exhibitions.
