Concern over Asoma Banda’s unapproved state funeral

Plans for an unapproved funeral service for the late Alhaji Asoma Abu Banda, which is set to happen in the State House in Accra, have caused conflict among the Abu Banda family.

Alhaji Mohammed Abu Banda, the head of the family and the Chief of Banda in the Ashanti Region, expressed the family’s strong displeasure of the event at a press conference held at the Abu Banda Mosque. He described it as unapproved and against the family’s desires.

Alhaji Mohammed underlined the family’s dedication to upholding the late Alhaji Asoma Abu Banda’s heritage, honor, and religious principles.

Alhaji Abdullah Khalifa, also referred to as Alhaji Abomour, does not have the mandate or power to plan a funeral service on behalf of the family, he declared unequivocally.

He also restated the family’s determination to honor the late Alhaji in line with his religious and personal preferences and encouraged the public and pertinent stakeholders to disregard any funeral plans that have not been approved by the family.
