The National Security Council’s recommendation and Executive Instrument led the Interior Minister to review the 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew that was implemented on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Binduri Township and the surrounding Upper East Region.
Chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and local residents are urged by the government to employ non-violent methods to focus their energies on maintaining peace in the region and to display caution when faced with obstacles.
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all anyone in the Binduri Township and its vicinity from carrying arms, ammunition, or other offensive weapons, movement of motorbikes, men and women wearing smocks, and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be detained and prosecuted.
