NPP communications director hopeful Dennis Miracles Aboagye has accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of using arrests and other political developments to shift public attention away from what he describes as shortcomings in government performance.
Speaking to Isaac Addae on The Verdict on Starr FM on Tuesday, August 25, Mr Aboagye alleged that the government creates what he called a “facade” whenever it faces difficult questions over its policies and performance.

According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications director hopeful, the government sometimes redirects public discussions towards political opponents instead of addressing concerns about governance, economic management and the use of public resources.
He alleged that arrests involving political adversaries could be used to distract the public from issues affecting the government.
Mr Aboagye argued that the focus should remain on the substantive issues facing Ghana rather than being shifted to developments that could dominate public discourse.

Mr Aboagye made the comments while discussing the reported $1.7 billion loss linked to gold trading, a matter that has generated public debate.
He questioned why attention was being directed towards other developments when, in his view, the key issue was the reported loss of state funds and the circumstances surrounding the transactions.
The NPP communicator maintained that the controversy should be thoroughly examined based on the facts and financial implications rather than allowing unrelated political developments to dominate the national conversation.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye stressed the importance of government accountability, transparency and responsible management of public funds.
He urged Ghanaians to remain focused on substantive questions surrounding government decisions, particularly where significant public resources are involved.
