Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General and Minister-designate for Justice, has promised to put Ghana’s national interests first if parliament accepts his nomination.

Dr. Ayine reaffirmed his dedication to respecting the rule of law and guaranteeing justice for all Ghanaians during his interview with Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Monday, January 13, 2025.

“I can assure the house that if they are [legal contracts] before the London Court of International Arbitration, I’m quite familiar with that tribunal. I have appeared before that tribunal several times. I can assure you that I will put in the measures that will ensure that the interest of the public is not compromised.”

Dr. Ayine emphasized his dedication to upholding a corruption-free ministry by referencing his time serving as Deputy Attorney General under former Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong.

“For four years, the US government described the Attorney General’s Office as a corruption-free zone. During our tenure, there was no single incident of questionable judgments or misconduct in the execution of the Republic’s obligations,” he stated.

He also gave the Committee his word that he would be prepared to take action to stop similar occurrences in the future.
