A team of safety officers from New Juabeng South Municipal Fire Station and Akropong Fire Station reached out to traders at markets within their jurisdiction.
The focus of education was on the causes and prevention of domestic fires, which had become increasingly prevalent in the municipality. The educators highlighted the safe use of candles, risks of overloading sockets, the importance of not leaving coal pots unattended after cooking, and the proper handling of LPG.
The public was urged to prioritize fire safety, as the devastation caused by fire affects lives greatly.
The emergency numbers of the stations were also provided to the traders to contact the service on time to ensure swift response in case of emergency.
