The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has approved a US$150 million credit facility for Ghanaian construction firm Maripoma Enterprise Limited.

This funding will support eight key road and bridge infrastructure projects across Ghana, injecting vital development finance into the country’s growing infrastructure pipeline.

The move comes as the Ghanaian government seeks to expand capital investment in roads, bridges, and transport networks while carefully managing public debt levels and avoiding unsustainable borrowing.

This US$150 million facility forms part of a larger package exceeding US$510 million in new financing commitments approved by the regional development bank. The broader funding targets high-impact projects in transport infrastructure, healthcare, renewable energy, and private-sector development throughout West Africa.

These strategic decisions were finalized at EBID’s landmark 100th Board Meeting, chaired by Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development.
