The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) is collaborating with District Assemblies across Ghana to strengthen food safety, market hygiene and public health standards.

Dr. George Sabblah explained that the partnership is essential to advancing the FDA’s mandate, as District Assemblies have direct oversight of local markets and are responsible for ensuring that proper sanitation and hygiene standards are maintained.

“The FDA works with the District Assemblies to further our mandate. The Assemblies have oversight over the markets and are responsible for ensuring that proper hygiene standards are maintained,” Dr. George Sabblah

The collaboration is expected to help improve food safety practices, promote hygienic markets and protect consumers from health risks associated with poor sanitation and unsafe food handling.
