The last funeral ceremonies for Naa Dedei Omaedru III, the late Ga Manye of the Ga State, are currently taking place at the Ga Mantse Palace in North Kaneshie, Accra.

Prominent citizens of the nation, including political leaders, are in attendance at the funeral.

The Ga Traditional Council, along with the Chief Justice and former Speaker of Parliament Mike Oquaye, as well as the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Second Lady Samira Bawumia, and the leadership of Parliament invaded the Ga Mantse Palace on Saturday to grieve.

Dignitaries in attendance were Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Inspector General of Police, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership, who joined the mourning to express their condolences for the people of Georgia.

Before proceeding to the burial grounds, the celebrities who attended the occasion were permitted to file past the late Queen Mother’s coffin as a final act of respect.

In accordance with customs and traditions, the mourners, particularly the chiefs, wore crimson and black clothing when musketry was being fired. This was their final act of respect for the late Queen.
