Ghana’s trade volumes with China continue to strengthen, reaching US$11.8 billion in 2024, representing more than a 7% increase over the previous year.

President John Dramani Mahama, speaking in an exclusive interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), described China as Ghana’s largest trading partner and said the upward trend in bilateral commerce reflects deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.

“Eleven-point-eight billion dollars of trade between Ghana and China in 2024 — that is more than 7% annual increase,” President Mahama said, noting that the expansion is underpinned by improving market access.

“The zero-tariff policy is now kicking in, and I believe it will create a conducive atmosphere for us to grow that trade even more.”
