The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has declared that in order to repair the 900mm (36″) transmission line at Breman Ahenfo, it will close the Barekese water treatment plant.
The transmission line was damaged on July 12, 2024, while a drainage from the Suame roundabout to Breman Ahenfo was being built. This is why the repair was necessary.
The Barekese Water Treatment Plant will be shut down on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, according to a statement issued by the GWL on Monday, July 22. This will give engineers time to work on repairing the transmission line.
Suame, Tafo/Pankrono, Asokwa, Bantama, Sokoban, Kronum, Barekese, Manhyia, Oforikrom, Kwadaso, Atasamanso, Kotwi, Adum, KNUST, Odoum, Asokore Mampong, and the neighboring areas are anticipated to be impacted by the closure as a result.
As a result, GWL has suggested that clients prepare enough water in advance of the workout.
