The former NDC MP for Madina Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Amadu Bukari Sorogho, has questions to answer…over the $1 million USD bribery scandal.

The U.S. judgment in the Asante Kwaku Berko case is clear: more than $46,000 in bribes were paid to Ghanaian officials including officials in the Ghanaian Parliament during the approval of the AKSA emergency power deal in 2015.

Hon. Sorogho chaired the Mines & Energy Committee at the time and signed the report that recommended the AKSA agreement to Parliament.

So the question remains:

Hon. Sorogho, who took the money?

The DOJ confirms payments reached “officials in the Ghanaian Parliament,” but the names were not disclosed. As Chairman overseeing the committee that endorsed this deal, he is the first person who can help the country understand what happened on the Ghanaian side of the transaction.

Ghanaians deserve clarity.

Parliament deserves integrity.

And the truth deserves daylight.

Who received the payments?

Who facilitated them?

Who benefited when Parliament approved this deal?

Ghana deserves answers.
