Justin Frimpong Kodua has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after winning a competitive internal election at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi.
Mr Kodua secured 4,486 votes at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 3, 2026, to retain his position as the NPP’s General Secretary.
He defeated former Ngleshie Amanfro Member of Parliament Sylvester Tetteh, who obtained 1,340 votes.
Eugene Boakye Antwi finished third with 162 votes, while Dr Charles Dwamena polled 126 votes.
Abanga Fuseini Yakubu Wins NPP National Youth Organiser Election
Meanwhile, Abanga Fuseini Yakubu has been elected as the NPP National Youth Organiser after emerging victorious in a six-way contest.
Mr Fuseini secured 1,550 votes to win the position and take charge of the party’s youth organisation.
Clement Opoku Gyamfi placed second with 631 votes, while Michael Osei Boateng received 78 votes.
Former Deputy National Youth Organiser Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah polled 46 votes, followed by Vera Oye Bram-Larbi with 44 votes and Alfred Kumi Ababio with 25 votes.
NPP Announces New National Executives
The elections formed part of the NPP National Delegates Conference 2026, which brought together delegates from across Ghana to elect the party’s new national executives.
The newly elected officers are expected to play a major role in strengthening the NPP’s grassroots structures, mobilising party supporters and implementing the party’s organisational strategy ahead of the 2028 Ghana general election.
Justin Kodua’s re-election also provides continuity at the party’s national secretariat as the NPP prepares for the next presidential and parliamentary elections.
