In order to decrease waste in the public sector, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a flag bearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised to run a lean, effective, and efficient government if elected to lead the party.

He claimed that a lean government would ensure that his administration carried out the citizens of Ghana’s mandate.

He emphasized the necessity of enforcing discipline and order, legal compliance, quality assurance, and control over public money activities.

These were mentioned by Kwabena Agyei Agyepong last Wednesday when he brought his campaign to Parliament House to meet with the NPP parliamentary caucus.

If the internal elections are held in a spirit of fairness, equity, and respect for the party’s code of conduct, purging it of manipulation, compulsion, and favoritism, he contends, the NPP can maintain power.

He encouraged the national executive and the Parliamentary caucus to see to it that these ideals be upheld.

According to the former general secretary, he will be a decisive leader who will revitalize the party’s base and rekindle the passion required for the grassroots to bring the party its elusive third straight victory in 2024.

He reiterated his vision for the development of a new dawn on the country’s political landscape and claimed that the NPP needed a new era of thought, a new perspective, and a new direction.

If given the authority by the delegates, he claimed, “I have the right experience, skill set, and character to lead the party.”

He gave the MPs his word that he will work closely with Parliament to remove the country’s regulations requiring judges to retire compulsorily from the SC bench at age 70 and to impose a cap of nine justices on the Supreme Court (SC).

The majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, the first deputy speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu, the majority chief whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the deputy majority chief whip, Lydia Alhassan, and many cabinet ministers were all present at the ceremony.
