American rapper Lil Wayne has seemingly announced that he is engaged to 23-year-old Madi Cannon, months after previously denying reports that he was preparing to get married.
The 44-year-old hip-hop star appeared to reveal his relationship status in a video shared on Instagram by fellow Hot Boys member B.G., who was celebrating his own engagement to Brooke Jones.
The video appears to show Lil Wayne and B.G. having a FaceTime conversation. While congratulating B.G. on his engagement, Lil Wayne turned the camera towards Madi Cannon, who was standing behind him.
The rapper then appeared to introduce Cannon as his future wife.
“And I’m marrying this one — this is Madison,” Lil Wayne said in the video.
Cannon responded by congratulating B.G., after which Lil Wayne added, “This is my fiancée.”
The rapper also jokingly asked B.G. to let them know what colours they would be wearing for the wedding, while declaring himself the best man.
B.G. later shared the video on Instagram with the caption, “My lil Brodie gave me his blessings @liltunechi.” He did not provide additional details about Lil Wayne’s apparent engagement announcement.
The development has sparked interest among Lil Wayne fans and entertainment followers, particularly because the rapper previously denied reports that he was engaged.
