John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reiterated that he will only accept the results of the general election on December 7th if the process is open and reliable.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC, Mr. Mahama voiced concerns regarding the voting process’s impartiality and cautioned that any result marred by violence or anomalies would be unacceptable.

“If on the election day, there is widespread ballot snatching, beating of people, and the military moving in and intimidating people, and thugs are all over the place, rampaging the place, you want me to accept that result? It will depend on the transparency and the fairness of the process,” he reiterated.

Mr. Mahama urged electoral players to put honesty first, emphasizing the necessity for a free and fair election and the need of preserving the nation’s democracy.
