According to Salam Mustapha, national youth organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the devil is shocked by the audacity of former president John Dramani Mahama to run for office.

He claims that the previous president, who once said he wasn’t in office to provide jobs for Ghana’s youth, is now vying for the top position once more.

He claimed that while the NPP had closely observed Mr. John Mahama’s campaign rallies, all it had heard from him so far were violent incitements to “do or die.”

“Perhaps that qualifies as his youth policy. For someone of his kind to show no consideration for the country’s youth is concerning.

He was a colossal failure as president and accomplished nothing for the country other than the terrible suffering he inflicted on us as we slumbered in dumsor for years and businesses failed, so it’s understandable.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is not a magician, but he is creating jobs for the young of Ghana, according to Salam Mustapha, who spoke at a media engagement session called the “Truth and Facts Series” held by the NPP youth wing.

He claims that the NPP Government has a clear youth strategy that will be carried by the succeeding NPP Government after breaking the eight in 2025, in contrast to the NDC and its flagbearer who failed to express a single program for the young during their recent campaigns.

“As of now, I can say with certainty that no government in the history of this nation can match the record of this government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, which has generated more than 2 million jobs and counting in just seven years.”

These employment statistics and important measures demonstrate how strongly pro-youth the NPP is as a party and in government.

“For this reason, the NPP youth wing hopes that all of the country’s young people would join us and make NPP their preferred party. The party that has a history of advocating for youth, he remarked.

Salam Mustapha stated that the NPP has consistently implemented pro-youth programs since the first NPP administration under President Kufuor, including the YEA, Ghana Cares Obaatanpa program, YouStart, Presidential Pitch Program under NEIP, etc.

He claimed that the party took these actions because it supported youth empowerment and development.

Clearly, this demonstrates that we are the party of young people.

The youth organizer acknowledged that despite the enormous progress made by our government in providing job opportunities for young people, the NPP recognizes that there is still much to be done to address the country’s graduate unemployment problem, which is still at an all-time high and requires a government that will continue to address it.

He claimed that while the NPP may not have resolved the issue of graduate unemployment definitively, the unemployed graduates association—a key component of the Mahama-led NDC government—has been abolished.
