The Parliamentary Select Committee on Security and Intelligence met with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Joint Mission Team from the Crisis Bureau and the Regional Bureau for Africa at Parliament House on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The goal of the gathering was threefold.
First, to discuss the current security and political situation in the subregion and Ghana, as well as how these conditions affect the country’s efforts in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, human rights protection, and justice administration.
Second, ensuring that these initiatives are implemented in a coordinated and complementary manner at the community level.
Finally, make recommendations to guide the establishment of Ghana’s National Prevention Strategy.
