Samuel Nartey George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram and Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, has reaffirmed his uncompromising position on the anti-LGBTQI bill that is presently being considered by Parliament.

In order to proceed with the Private Member’s Bill, Sam George confirmed that he has resubmitted it and is awaiting an invitation from the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee of Parliament.

The MP reiterated his objection to LGBTQI activities in Ghana and emphasized that his stance on the bill has not changed in an interview with TV3 on Friday, April 11.

“I still stand by my stance on the anti-LGBTQI bill. He declared, I have laid the Private Member’s Bill before parliament,” adding that LGBTQI activities are a disgrace and should not be tolerated in the nation.

Sam George has been a prominent supporter of the law, which aims to make LGBTQI acts illegal in Ghana.

Critics claim that the bill infringes upon fundamental human rights, while supporters maintain that it respects Ghana’s cultural and religious beliefs.
