The invitation to the presidential banquet has caused a stir in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
When they fought on the streets to bring the political party to power, some of its foot soldiers struggled to understand why they were excluded from the good times.
They believe it is unjust that some young women who were not heard or seen during the campaign will get to enjoy themselves.
Oheneba Boamah Benie, a television anchor who joined the foot soldiers in their grievance, found it incomprehensible that someone like him, who had to be imprisoned for the political party’s sake, was unaware that there was a celebration to commemorate the triumph they had all battled for.
“Next time if such an event is taking place, please remember some of us. We can also dance just like those who were invited. I’ve seen some ladies who were at the dinner and I can bet they did not contribute to the party’s electoral success. I went to prison for the party and such good times cannot come and go without me being invited,” he remarked.
Concerns have also been raised by others on the type of individuals invited to the meal.
