Dr. Onsy Nathan Kwame Nkrumah, a former vice chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has submitted his candidacy paperwork in order to compete as the CPP’s flagbearer.
This occurs as the party prepares to make an effort to unseat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking to journalists, he added that many Ghanaians and those from the diaspora had asked him to take charge of the nation that his father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, previously oversaw in order to bring about change and improve Ghana.
He claimed that he was driven by a desire to see CPP retake control, reform, and faithfully serve Ghanaians once more.
“CPP once led the nation and is prepared to collaborate with anyone to improve this country.”
Dr. Onsy Nkrumah claimed that because he had actively promoted Pan-Africanism around the globe, he was the ideal choice to lead the CPP and Ghana.
He urged Ghanaians living abroad to return home and support him for president of Ghana, claiming that the CPP’s independence would assist to bring about some much-needed freedom. According to Dr. Onsy Nkrumah, Ghanaians had tried the NPP and the NDC and had both disappointed them.
Both Nana Akosua Frimpongmaa Sarpong Kumankumah and Dr. Onsy Nkrumah are vying for first place in the CPP flagbearer ship race, which they are competing in. The party said that the selection and submission of forms had gone smoothly.
