The KPMG report said the shady SML contracts had breached many laws, including the Public Financial Management Act.

The new Commissioner General of the GRA, Julie Essiam, has written a letter authorising SML to go and continue its contract. My checks with the Parliament of Ghana show that the GRA and the Ministry of Finance, have not sent the contract to parliament. The Majority and Minority leadership of the Finance Committee of Parliament insist the contract must be approved by Parliament before SML can proceed, but the GRA says it can proceed.
Will the GRA respect the standardisation requirements contained in the counter-letter from the Ministry of Energy or, as far as SML is concerned, they won’t respect any laws or standards?
Does the president know about this? And what is he saying?
