A police officer stationed at the checkpoint died in a terrible incident that happened at Kantanka Junction along the Winneba-Kasoa route throughout the course of the night.

Three vehicles, a petroleum tanker (register number GY-2186-13), a trailer (registration number GE-5468-22), and a Kia truck (registration number GR-6419-N), were involved in the deadly collision.

The Kia truck struck a police barricade while it was heading towards Mankessim Road, based on information received at the site.

The truck struck a neighboring parked fuel tanker and a trailer as a result of this incident. The cop was sadly driven over by the cars as a result of the numerous crashes causing them to spiral out of control.

According to eyewitnesses, the Kia truck lost control and collided with other cars, starting a sequence of crashes that resulted in the fatal accident that killed the officer.
