The Bono East Regional House of Chiefs, led by Nana Owusu Sakyi III, were welcomed by President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, along with Paramount Chiefs, Queen Mothers, and traditional leaders from throughout the region.
The delegation, which included the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, and the Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, paid a courtesy call on the President to discuss development and shared national interests affecting the Bono East Region.

President Mahama reiterated the government’s commitment to boosting the economy and supporting the region’s strategic role in agriculture, trade, and commerce, especially within Techiman and its surrounding communities, while the chiefs praised the government for the progress made thus far.
A 50,000-ton cashew processing factory, the creation of special markets under the 24-hour economy initiative, the development of Farmer Service Centers, significant road infrastructure projects, and plans to establish a Regional Hospital for Bono East are just a few of the significant interventions designated for the Region, according to the President.
