Six new Ministers of State have been formally sworn in by President John Dramani Mahama after being approved by Parliament.
In a brief ceremony held at Ghana’s presidential residence, Jubilee House, the president urged the appointees to carry out their responsibilities with diligence and fulfill the administration’s promises to the Ghanaian people.
President Mahama himself delivered the oaths of office, secrecy, and allegiance to the recently appointed ministries.
The President’s words underscored the significance of their contributions throughout the remaining seven months of his term and conveyed his trust in their talents.
He urged the ministers to tackle the country’s urgent problems with zeal and commitment.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance; John Jinapor, Minister of Energy; Dr. Dominic Ayine, Attorney General; and Minister of Justice are among the recently sworn-in ministers.
Among the other ministers are Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku, and Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Agbodza.
“You have been entrusted with significant responsibilities at a pivotal time for our country. It is imperative that you bring your expertise and dedication to bear in addressing the expectations of Ghanaians,” President Mahama said.
President Mahama emphasized during his remarks during the ceremony the vital role each minister would play in accomplishing the administration’s objectives, especially in the fields of social services, infrastructural development, and economic management.
