The African Public Sector Conference and Awards Humanitarian Lifetime Achievement Award has been awarded to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin.

His significant contribution to leadership and legislative responsibilities over the past few years has earned him this esteemed prize.

The group’s leader presented the award to the longest-serving lawmaker in Parliament and Nadowli-Kaleo MP, saying, “ from chairing key parliamentary committees to serving as as minister of health, water resources, works and housing, your journey has been marked by a strategic and unparalleled dedication”.

“Your leadership style exemplifies democratic principles”.

Mr. Speaker expressed his happiness and appreciation, noting that he is honored that organizations have noticed and acknowledged his contributions to the public service throughout the years.

As you may remember, Speaker Bagbin was supposed to accept the award in Botswana, but he was unable to do so because of pressing parliamentary matters. Instead, the organizers chose to present him with the honor at his office in Parliament.

“APSCA is a platform for leaders to exchange ideas, foster innovation in governance, and inspire others to strive for excellence,” said Madam Carol Opata, Executive Director of InstinctWave, West Africa.
